The main objective of this course is to provide students with
firm understanding of the design of reinforced concrete members and structures
through a thorough grounding in the basic performance of materials and
structural behaviour under loading, Topics covered in this course will include:
fundamental behavior of reinforced concrete; basis for design code and specification;
flexural analysis and design of beams; shear and diagonal tension in beams;
bond, anchorage, and development length; design of short columns; analysis and
design of slabs; and design of footings and foundations.
